Anime Zero Beginner Guide: Your First Hours
First hours in order: codes, spins, skill tree, Story, difficulties and Infinite.
Guide: Beginner GuideFirst steps, in order
- Redeem every code. Press Codes on the right of the screen. The 20 working codes add up to a large pile of spins, coins and trait rerolls. 2 of them need an account level first (NEWRAID at 50, SORRYFORDELAY at 25), so come back for those. Full list on the codes page.
- Join the group. Membership in the LY* Roblox community unlocks a group reward in game. Claim it before you spin.
- Roll weapons. You carry two at once, so fill both slots. Every spin, normal or Lucky, moves you toward a guaranteed Mythic at 175; see the pity guide and the weapons list.
- Enchant Power. It is the straightforward damage enchant and the usual first pick. Leave Hunter, Bloodlust and Supernova for later.
- Spend your first skill token. Each weapon has its own skill tree with Attack, Crit, Defense and Speed branches. The first damage node gives +15% damage, which is the best value for one token.
The three game modes
You pick mode, map, act and difficulty in the lobby, and the queue screen previews drops before you start.
- Story is the main progression. Two maps so far: Sakamoto, which ends with a boss fight against Uzuki, and HxH (added October 1), which has breakable rubble walls and spawns more enemies the higher the difficulty. Each act drops its own crafting materials.
- Defense asks you to hold a position rather than push through rooms. Sakamoto Defense is the current example.
- Infinite is endless waves with a boss at set intervals. Since October 4 it pays coins and gems every wave instead of at the end, materials start dropping from wave 16, and there is a leaderboard for the deepest run.
The October 5 Flame Director update also added a Nightmare-only Bath House raid, the only source of the Lyth weapon Paramita Pyre (Hu Tao); the Hu Tao page covers it.
Difficulty rewards compared
Four difficulties apply to every mode. Higher ones give enemies more health and damage but pay far more: Nightmare Story clears give 10x the coins of Easy. Values below are from the October 2 to 4 patches as reported via the Anime Zero Wiki’s copy of the official Discord update log.
| Difficulty | Enemy HP | Story clear | Trait crystal | Infinite boss | Infinite by wave 50 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 0.85x | 1,500 coins, 50 gems | 5% | every 10 waves | 6,000 coins, 200 gems |
| Normal | 1.3x | 3,000 coins, 100 gems | 10% | every 8 waves | 9,450 coins, 525 gems |
| Hard | 1.6x | 6,000 coins, 200 gems | 20% | every 6 waves | 13,500 coins, 1,200 gems |
| Nightmare | 2x | 15,000 coins, 350 gems | 40% | every 5 waves | 21,000 coins, 2,450 gems |
Sportskeeda and some fan pages call Normal “Medium”. Trait crystal is the chance a Story win drops one (they feed the trait system). Past wave 50, each Infinite wave pays 1.35x the one before, and you only get a wave’s payout if you were there from its start, dealt damage and survived it.
Combat basics
- Two weapons, one key. Press T to swap. The weapon you switch to deals +20% damage for 4 seconds, so open with one kit and finish with the other.
- Skills. M1 plus skills on 1 to 3; G fires the ultimate once the weapon is evolved. Q dashes.
- Blocking. Blocks drain a guard bar that breaks if you soak too much. A perfect block costs no guard and knocks the enemy back.
- Crowds. At most two enemies can attack you at the same time, so fight at a choke point and pull packs together before using area skills.
- Synergy. Some weapon pairs grant a bonus (Rubber Man + Divine Emperor, the Luffy and Shanks weapons, give +15% max health); any other pair still gives +5% damage. The weapons page lists all six.
Evolution basics
A freshly rolled weapon has three skills. Evolving it unlocks the ultimate on G, which is the biggest single power jump for a weapon you plan to keep. Use the Areas button to reach the Evolution NPC.
- Each weapon needs its own materials from runs, for example Sukuna Fingers for Cursed King (Sukuna), or 4 Soul Fragments for Cataclysm (both reported from gameplay footage).
- Check the queue screen to see which act drops what. If a material does not drop for 5 runs in a row, material pity guarantees it on the next.
- Players currently report a single evolution per weapon.
What to do next
- Craft accessories from your materials: damage pieces for faster clears, health pieces while you learn bosses.
- Claim quests and achievements after each session; they pay spins, gems and materials.
- Reroll traits on your main weapon once codes have given you a stack of rerolls.
- Park in the AFK chamber whenever you step away; it pays a Lucky Spin every 15 minutes.
- Pick a long-term weapon target from the tier list and save spins toward its pity.
FAQ
- What should I do first in Anime Zero?
- Redeem every code, claim the reward for joining the LY* Roblox group, spend your spins on weapons until both slots are filled, roll the Power enchant and put your first skill token into the +15% damage node. Then start Story on Easy or Normal.
- Which difficulty should a beginner play?
- Start on Easy until clears feel safe, then move up quickly: Easy pays only 1,500 coins per Story clear while Nightmare pays 15,000. Hard is a good middle step once you have a Legendary or better weapon and a damage enchant.
- How do I unlock my ultimate in Anime Zero?
- Evolve the weapon. Each weapon starts with three skills, and evolution adds the fourth, the ultimate on G. Open Areas, find the Evolution NPC and hand in that weapon's materials.
- Is Anime Zero pay to win?
- Stages can be cleared without buying anything. Passes speed things up (2X Drop Rate doubles materials, XP and coins), but codes, quests and the AFK chamber hand out enough spins to reach the first pity without spending Robux.
